Covid-19 Saftey Plan

Our number one concern is the safety of our dance families and staff. We are committed to adhering to all government guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.

Please note these procedures are subject to change based on government regulations.

  • Perform symptom and temperature checks prior to bringing your child to the studio.  Children with a temperature above 99°F (38°C) or experiencing symptoms must stay home.

  • All dancers are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class to allow time for the previous class to be dismissed and disinfecting to occur.

  • While physical distancing, parents will bring their child to the front doors of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre, and a teacher or staff member will be present to screen your child.  Parents are required to:

    • READ the COVID-19 questionnaire prior to sending their child into the building and provide verbal confirmation of the answer to the teacher or staff member present.

    • If the parent answers “Yes” to any questions the child must return home.

  • Only students and Poltava teachers and staff will be allowed inside the building, with the exception of our Beginner class. One parent (no siblings) may accompany their Beginner child and remain in the basement following COVID protocols and after they are screened by teachers or staff.

  • All dancers, teachers and staff will be required to wear a face mask when entering and exiting the building. Please send a ziploc bag with your child’s name so that they can safely store their mask while dancing.

  • Everyone will sanitize their hands upon entering the studio, as well as before and after breaks.

  • Dancers will proceed to the basement and place their belongings at their designated numbered chair (these will be pre-assigned and remain the same all year):

    • Dancers are only allowed to bring one dance bag with them into the building.

    • Dancers should have their dance attire on prior to coming to their class and only need to take off layers depending on weather.

    • Dance slippers/shoes are required to be worn inside the studio only. Street shoes will be stored with your child’s personal items.

    • Dancers should bring their own reusable water bottle from home, labeled with their name. Students must take their water bottles home with them each day.

  • Dancers will be taken upstairs and will go to their designated numbered spot at the barre (if applicable) or on the gridded dance mat.

  • Class numbers are limited based on government regulations and studio size allowing for proper physical distancing at all times.

  • Parents will pick-up their child at the back door, please come to the door and ask for your child by name and an instructor will send your child to the door.

  • Staff will be frequently sanitizing high-touch areas and equipment, and cleaning will take place between each class.

  • All Poltava dance teachers and staff will be required to follow all COVID-19 guidelines.
